Sherrill S. Grace - Senior Partner

 

Sherrill S. Grace (Sherri) received both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.  She has held a variety of positions in management of state and local programs. Sherri is a teacher by training and over the past 20 years has served in multiple school districts in many different roles.

Following her graduation from Washburn University, Sherri worked in the field of therapeutic recreation as Activity Director for a nursing home and subsequently as Senior Adult Specialist for the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Topeka, Kansas.  While she was pursuing her Masters Degree in Education, she worked as a Special Education Paraprofessional for the Topeka Public School System. 

From 1989 - 1995 Sherri was both a Learning Disabled (LD) Resource teacher as well as a Self Contained Department Head.  She was primarily responsible for the remediation of areas of academic weakness, development of improved study skills, behavioral modification plans, academic mentoring, program development and curriculum implementation.  Her vast prior experience includes an assignment as a Department Head for the LD Department in Fairfax, Virginia, one of the top academic school districts in the nation as well as multiple other teaching roles at a variety of different schools.

In 1995 she moved from Virginia to Louisiana.  After teaching in the New Orleans Public School System for one year, she was recruited to be Executive Director for the First United Methodist Church Child Care Center on Canal Street in New Orleans.  She was selected by the Board of Directors to be a turn around executive for the center.  She utilized vast experience in education and department management to reorganize all elements of the child care center.  She was responsible for all aspects of the operation of the Child Care Center including budget creation and management, human resources, curriculum development, facitlties and program implementation.  She very successfully transformed the look, feel and function of the center which was eventually absorbed into a newly created International School.  She has routinely been sought out as a creative source for a variety of educational and business opportunities.

In 2001 she resigned from her position as Executive Director of the Child Care Center to become a full time mom for her three children.  Since that time, she has been extremely active as a room parent, driver, volunteer, manager of fund raising initiatives, director of multiple special volunteer programs and projects. 

In addition to her roles within the education field, Sherri has been a Senior Partner with Grace and Associates, LLC  for almost four years.  Her creative energies and organizational expertise have been a critical component to the success of the company.  Over the past two years she has been the primary manager for the company during an absense of the other Senior Partner on an activey duty military recall.
