Jack DuFon recently retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs with over 31 years of Federal Service and joined Grace and Associates as the Director of VA Operations. Most recently he was the VHA Non-Expendable Program Executive (VHA Procurement and Logistics Office) charged with implementing VHA’s enterprise wide equipment management program.  In this position he oversaw VHA’s $12 billion equipment portfolio with an emphasis on clinically driven strategic sourcing.

Prior to joining P&LO, Mr. DuFon was the former VISN Chief Logistics Officer at Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 17 in Arlington, Texas, overseeing the management of supply chain operations for all VHA facilities in VISN 17.

Mr. DuFon received a Master’s in Health Care Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Trinity University, with a concentration in Economics and Finance. After completing his administrative residency at VA North Texas Health Care (VANTHCS) system in 1989, Mr. DuFon was appointed as Administrative Officer for Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service. During his tenure, Mr. DuFon implemented sharing agreements between VANTHCS and other Federal entities which generated more than $1,000,000 in annual revenue. He also facilitated VANTHCS joining MayoLink Laboratory Network, making VANTHCS first in the country to participate in this partnership.

Mr. DuFon served as VISN 17 Revenue Manager for two years, implementing a revenue improvement program resulting in VISN 17 having the highest percentage in collections.  He has served on numerous local and national multi-disciplinary committees.

Mr. DuFon served as VISN 17 coordinator for the Graduate Healthcare Administration Training programs mentoring, and developing residents and fellows. He worked with the VISN Director ensuring VA maintained a quality administrative resident and fellow teaching program that was a pipeline for senior healthcare executives.  He has mentored and trained more than 75 administrative residents/fellows/interns over the years many of which are running hospitals in the public and private sector.

Mr. DuFon has held adjunct faculty positions for Trinity University, The University of Texas at Arlington, and The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. He currently serves on the Healthcare Administration Advisory Boards of The University of North Texas Health Science Center and the University of Texas at Dallas.
